# Acclaimed Poet Yasus Afari Joins International Spoken Word Artist Sunday Jones for Official Jamaica Media Launch of Ink. Breath. & Bars: Pain 2 Power
### Official Media Launch and Press Conference to introduce a transformative literary, lyrical and healing experience touring Jamaica July 21–July 30, 2026.
KINGSTON, JAMAICA – Acclaimed Jamaican dub poet, author and cultural ambassador Yasus Afari has been confirmed as Special Guest Speaker for the Official Jamaica Media Launch & Press Conference of Ink. Breath. & Bars: Pain 2 Power, the inaugural Jamaica tour of internationally acclaimed spoken word artist, author and transformational speaker Sunday Jones.
The Media Launch will take place on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Sador’s Ethiopian Restaurant, Bamboo Walk, Negril, bringing together leaders from Jamaica’s literary, cultural, tourism, business and community sectors to officially launch the Jamaica tour.
Presented from July 21 through July 30, 2026, Ink. Breath. & Bars: Pain 2 Power is a literary, lyrical and healing experience that blends spoken word, storytelling, music, breathwork and authentic dialogue to inspire healing, creativity and personal transformation. The tour will feature performances, youth engagement, community conversations and cultural exchange across Kingston, Montego Bay and Negril.
Joining Sunday Jones and Yasus Afari at the Media Launch will be Priestess Tassili Ma’at, Convener and Sponsor of the Ink. Breath. & Bars Jamaica Tour, whose leadership has been instrumental in bringing this inaugural cultural experience to Jamaica.
Yasus Afari’s participation adds a distinguished Jamaican literary voice to the launch. A celebrated cultural ambassador, dub poet, reggae artiste, author, educator, and founder of the Jamaica Poetry Festival, he has long championed literature, cultural identity and social consciousness through his work in Jamaica and internationally.
The Media Launch will also welcome representatives from Jamaica’s tourism, business and civic communities, highlighting the role of literature, wellness and the performing arts in strengthening community engagement and cultural tourism
